The Castle

Summer schedule: open from Tuesday to Sunday from 9.30 to 12 am and from 4.30 to 7.30 pm. Of Medieval origin it rose on the base of a Roman castrum.
Completely restored it allows to enjoy one of the most beautiful view of the Garda. During the summer season, different events such as theatrical performances, outdoor movie theater and country festival are organized in its courtyards.

The cathedral of Desenzano was built in 1582, it has a basilical plant and three naves and it represents one of the most beautiful example of Late Renaissance in the area. Inside you can admire the wonderful S.S. sacramento Chapel by the Italian artist Gian Battista Tiepolo.

San Martino tower

This Gotic Style tower was built in 1878 in a Desenano’s suburb called San Martino della Battaglia, where during Italian Risorgimento some important battles took place. Still nowadays there are many celebrations to remember those historical facts and you can visit it as well.

It’s one of the most important fortress in the area, upon a hill and very well conserved. You can visit its walls, the inside park, the ornithological museum and the Podestà House.

Sirmione is also known as “Lake Garda’s pearl”, a beautiful and famous town, with a natural thermal station, the little town centre by the lake, Catullo’s grotte and the amazing Castle. Lots of poets and artists lived and loved Sirmione, leaving important historical signs there.

It’s the monumental house of the famous Italian poet Gabriele d’ Annunzio, it consists of different buildings, a huge garden, an open air theatre, sculptures and a very original rich house that you can visit in a guided tour. In summertime concerts and ballet shows takes place there.
